Lisa Anne Thompson Taylor – Founder and CEO

CEO and Founder, Principal Governance and Culture Consultant

A leading strategist partnering with organizations, companies, and individuals to improve the impact of their mission, Lisa Anne specializes in working with leaders to harness diverse strategies and implement effective governance models, tailored to their sector and unique needs. As the Founder and CEO of Board Veritas, Lisa Anne and her team focus on ensuring our portfolio of clients thrive in this volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous (VUCA) world.

Deeply rooted in community engagement, Lisa Anne has served on multiple boards, including Rotary of Bar Harbor/MDI, the FSC First (Maryland), National Association of Women Business Owners (Greater DC) and City Club of Washington Young Executive Board. These experiences have given her a unique perspective when it comes to governance—how to examine a board’s efficacy constructively and without bias, how to forge productive relationships between company leaders and board members, and how to chart a comprehensive roadmap to success.

Prior to founding Board Veritas in 2010, Lisa Anne spent 15 years in the field working with nonprofits to raise funds, recruit board members and forge institutional partnerships. She served as regional director of development for the National Kidney Foundation; associate director of alumni relations at development for the University of Maryland (College of Behavioral and Social Sciences), and director of public affairs and fundraising at Days End Farm Horse Rescue. Lisa Anne is a BoardSource Certified Governance Consultant (CGC), a member of the Association for Research on Nonprofits and Voluntary Action (ARNOVA), the Maine Association of Nonprofits (MANP) and the University Club of Washington DC.
